Weathermark Sailboats were at Hayling Island SC's Teen Skills week with 2 or their 29ers. Coaches Dave Hall and Olly Spencer-Corefield spent the week training 24 13 -16 year olds all the skills and tricks to sailing the 29er.
The young adults on the course ranged from current world champions in the Feva class to sailors that had barely come out of their Optimist. Hot News about the Weathermark Fireball
The new Fireball from Weathermark will be available at the end of the summer, Dave Hall - an old hand in the Fireball has put his years of experience and thoughts into the hull, deck and internal design. The hull whilst being the current 'wide bow' thinking has a slightly more veed entry making the boat kinder through the water, we have also maximised the water line length. The rocker is as flat as the rules permit. Inside, the forward centreboard case will be a low as possible to save those shins without loosing the lateral strength, the case rises after the thwart onto a flat table to allow owners a free hand in the way they like their controls. The deck has been made functional as well and aesthetically pleasing. The aft tank has the recess for the spinnaker sheets and the coming is designed for comfort without looking too imposing. Internal and construction details are under wraps at the moment but look out for some very different thinking!
